Between the 13th and 18th of January 2008, The School of Architecture at The University of Liverpool will hold an International Winter School. This is part of the University’s contribution to Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008.

The event, entitled Multipli-Cities, will bring together internationally recognized guest critics and students of architecture and other related subjects, from the United Kingdom and abroad, to collaborate on a series of interconnected architectural design projects.

There will be at least eleven different workshops that will explore topics related to architecture, public art, design, urban planning, regeneration and sustainability in an era when more than half of the world’s population lives in cities.

Every day will start with a short lecture followed by studio work and tutorial sessions. Participants and staff will be working in the school’s ‘hi-tech’ open-plan design studio, which is also a WiFi zone. The day will close with an evening open discussion where participants and critics will share their work experiences.

During the last day, the projects produced by each tutor group will be presented, reviewed and awarded by categories. Selected projects will be exhibited. To close the event all participants are invited to a well deserved student and staff party!

As there are only 150 places available, interested participants are encouraged to contact the school prior to the application deadline of 03/12/07.
